Sherry is Spanish.

Not widely sold in Portugal.

If I were you, I'd nip down to Mercadona or Dias in Ayamonte and pick one up there. (Not Sundays as supermarkets are not generally open in Spain on those days!)

In Portugal, Sherry is known as "Vinho generoso"

Sherry is the corrupted English name for the wine named after "Jerez", the Andalucian town where is is produced.

Title of your post suggests you’re looking for ‘Cream’ Sherry ie Harvey’s Bristol Cream type not Sherry as the majority of Spanish would recognise.
HBC a available at Soares, opposite the old market in Tavira

Though I would be interested int a source of Italian Marsala, can’t seem to find it anywhere, not even Soares and they have most things.

This is Portugal. Shouldn't you consider Madeira?

Madeira’s not a bad substitute for Marsala, but when the chef wants Marsala then Marsala it must be .
