Council Tax?
We are in the process of buying a one bedroom apartment in Olhos D'Agua (between Albufeira and Vilamoura) and was hoping someone may have some idea of what we can expect to pay for the monthly council tax? (apartment priced 115,000 euros). And, would there be any difference if the apartment was lived in permanently or used for 'occassion' holidays by just us (we're not renting it out). Thank you.

After 6 years, do you just pay as normal, or are you expected to repay for the "free" 6 years?

Sorry cant give you any figures cos I am still in the exemption period.
I do know its based on a rateable value of the property, which is less than market value, but im unsure as to the cost.
I dont think its too expensive, certainly not even close to the tax paid by people in Uk.

I found this online, don't know if it is up to date. I'd ask my family over there, but don't think they'd enjoy a 2.00 a.m. call to ask this question
