NB you need to take your NIF with you (Although I always take a folder with all of my documents that I have ever had and photos etc etc in it whenever I do anything like this anyway - just in case )

Bum! I was really hoping to avoid any need to go anywhere official in person, it's a pain normally, must be hell in these days

Can anyone tell me how it is to go to citizens spaces at the moment and the best approach?
I had a quick look for my nearest but it sent me to two telphone numbers (which I for some reason shy away from ....) and the gov eportal, for which I need a Digital Key - you have to laugh

Your CMD will only be valid for as long as your passport is. Make sure your other numbers (Utente, SS, NIF etc) are included in the application.

I managed to get a chave móvel digital today in Porto. First of all I went to Loja de Cidadão as there is an Espaço Cidadão inside but they refused to see me as I didn't have an appointment. I hadn't made an appointment because I couldn't figure out how to make an appointment, and from the website it appeared to me you could just show up. The security guard then showed me a list of phone numbers on the wall and said I had to phone that number. So I left there empty-handed. My second shot was to go to Espaço Cidadão in Maia. I just turned up, no need to make an appointment, took a number and waited in line. After 30 minutes my number was called and I was dealt with one of the most unpleasant women I have encountered so far in Portugal, I have no idea what her problem was but she was rude and unhelpful. However, I did get the key. The documents she asked for were: passport, Portuguese health service number original document, original NIF document, and Portuguese mobile number. She asked me if I had a Social Securtiy number but I explained I hadn't been able to get one yet. Two messages were sent to my mobile with codes during the appointment which I had to repeat to her. That was all it took. Probably 5 minutes tops.
