Borax in Portugal is "bórax", and is available from pharmacies, hardware stores, and agricultural suppliers, depending on the grade/purity and the quantity you are looking for.

It's actually percarbonate of sodium, an adduct of soda ash and hydrogen peroxide, used as a bleach/disinfectant.
Still not Borax though.......

Whilst true, it may be better known as "Borato de Sodio" and should be available at any Farmácia - if you can't find it elsewhere - Bórax Borato de sódio - A sua loja online de

I see you posted exactly the same wording in the Wikipedia article, though missed a few words. :sneaky:

Sodium percarbonate is a chemical substance with formula Na2H3CO6. It is an adduct of sodium carbonate ("soda ash" or "washing soda") and hydrogen peroxide (that is, a perhydrate) whose formula is more properly written as 2 Na2CO3 · 3 H2O2.

Actually, no - from here https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3599183/ "Sodium percarbonate, an oxidizing agent comprising an adduct of sodium carbonate and hydrogen peroxide"- not really interested in the chemistry but I know my neighbour had it for some sheep infection and that it's not bicarb or borax. The same neighbour gave me "borato de sodio" as an ant killer..... but as a farmer, he has access to sources I don't.
