One of the major influences on where we decide to purchase a property will be if there is a thriving market where we could sell hand crafted items. We would like to buy within half an hour ish from the coast if possible so that we might pick up some seasonal trade.
Anybody any up to date knowledge that might help us out with concentrating our search areas..? We are at such a baby steps stage at the moment but just trying to get as much information as possible so that we have a chance to make things work once we get there. ☺

A bit more investigation throws up Olhão municipal market....close to the coast. Just need a house. � ����

There are weekly , monthly markets in almost all of the Algarve towns.
Plus local seasonal events such as Easter fairs.
Here in Carvoeiro within a short drive are flea markets in Ferragudo and lagoa.
Monthly markets in Albufeira, Silves, Algoz, Lagos plus others .

Thanks EMR. ☺ Will check out those whilst property searching. We are hoping it won't be too difficult securing a stall on the markets...but I guess that's a suck it and see situation.

I guess it depends on what you are selling, Tavira has lots of craft markets and in the summer especially every night there are stalls along the river also the surrounding areas all have something taking place where craft stalls are included. If you look on the Tavira uncovered website you will see. Good luck 👍👍

Thanks Rollermum, that sounds fab, ideal for us really. We'd be selling a variety of items I guess, crocheted bags, boleros, baby clothes and wooden items also. A few more ideas up our sleeve depending on what sells well. ☺
