Default Apartment purchase - dependent area

I'm looking to buy an apartment in the Algarve, and the agent said the sale would include the apartment itself plus some 'dependent area'. I asked what this dependent area is, and the agent said it could be the car parking space, terraces, etc. but it'll not be defined as those exact items in the promissory contract.
Has anyone who purchased an apartment (or even a house) seen this before? Does it look odd that those things cannot be exactly defined within the contract?

It sounds meaningless...... anything not covered by the contract is not part of the sale AFAIK.

Get a copy of the "LandRegistry" listing for the articles(s) concerned and also copies of any "maintenance contracts"etc. The flat owners are usually jointly responsible for paying for stuff related to communal parts (dependent areas) like stairways, roof, bin store, exotic tropical holidays for maintenance staff etc but in order for this to happen there should be a legal agreement which the "owner" needs to have a copy of. Usually not used on a house as there is no "communal areas" If you are in the area you could have a chat with one of the other flats and find out as the contract should make foe equal contributions but there are several different ways it can be organised.
