Hi
Wonder if anyone by chance have received a phone call from this number. My dad is in my house in Portugal and he kept receiving call from this number. He's not sure if it's harrasement or something else, as he doesn't speak Portuguese nor English.

Thanks!

Yes, and being MEO it IS harassment, but you can't do anything about it....

I keep my land line unplugged because of them. They call every day, they just never stop. Constantly trying to sell me an internet + phone package because they have my number.
Because I have a phone and internet package from them.
They've rendered my phone practically useless.

We were getting endless calls on our cellphones & landline from what I presume was an autodialler where the number showed as 'private' & it drove us both nuts...... We complained (by email) to MEO once & the calls immediately stopped.

It's not often I have a kind word for MEO but in this case they did their job well.

I complained many times, and put our numbers on the "no junk calls" list too.
The calls stopped for a while, then started again.
I wonder how many customers they lose because of these sales calls?

one of those land line call blocker phones would work - just add the number to instant block.

Even some mobiles have the option now in the android settings - after you have had a call , touch the number , touch the 3 dots , choose settings or reject if it has it.Example below.

One of the things that will set off a spate of calls from MEO is if you visit their website.

I presume this only applies if you're already a customer of theirs, not already on the full package and visit the pages detailing the various packages and deals but it took me completely by surprise when a salesman informed me that I had visited their site recently (as indeed I had, checking out current prices for someone on here, I think).

So if you're going to do that and don't want your phone ringing day and night, take a tip from me and don't do it from your home computer ;)

I use a dinosaur flip phone, so when I break it I don't have to care too much.
I can't have expensive things in my pockets...
But thanks for the blocking tips.
