Bugger! Hmmm. That means he will be over his 7 years service once next recruitment drive comes into play again. Anyone know if you can have a career break from the UK and apply as a aus resident over there (obviously would have to get another job first)

Hi.
The first step would be to assess how you are going to be eligible to work in Oz by looking at what your visa options are. Have a good root around on the forum. There's plenty of advice to be had from people who've been through the whole process.

Good luck.

Hi.
No not quite. Finish work on the 18th and fly out on 7th August. Busy socialising and catching up with friends and rellies before I go. Haven't drunk so much since my Rugby tour hay days!

Some days I still can't believe it's finally happening.

Not long to go - sure it'll fly by :)

(hopefully you'll have the best of the British summer before you leave, and miss the worst of our winter )

Michelle,

The current recruitment was 3-10 years service when the applications were open so its worth keeping an eye on the website. They have stated there are no plans to recruit 2015 yes, however it also said that for this year after the 2013 drive right up until they opened it up again in March.

I am lucky to be in this process and hopefully will get out there but prior to March I was checking almost daily.... No reason for it not to happen again.. :D

Plus you still have another three years to be under the 10 yr bracket so don't give it up just yet

Thank you! I've messaged the three forces we are interested in and just posed the qu. Try can only say no! And spoken to a registered migration agent so I think it's clearer in my head now. So confused as I've been told rubbish by one company. Will look daily too so thanks for advice

Would you mind if I asked you a few questions in regards to the process in regards to leaving the police here and transition to aus?

Thanks
