Got a calf strain last night going after runners. This bloody job is determined to ruin my life!!!! No cardio now til my test to give me the best chance of it being strong enough.
Bit of rowing and cross trainer next week. Like that bloody sit up isn't hard enough!

Notts, dont go near a rowing machine, theres too much tension thro your calf. I pulled mine last year and after 2-3 days rest I did a light sesh on the x trainer. 2 days later back running 5km.
Good luck.

Notts - I feel for you mate. I've been there before. The biggest challenge was resting it as I was desperate to keep training.
I now have 12 days to go till my fitness and my big concern is balancing the need to continue to train whilst avoiding any injuries. Already struggling with knee and ankle pains as it is. All down to the twisting and turning on the bloody agility course.
It's the classic rock and a hard place scenario.
If I were you I'd find myself Physio and get some ultrasound on the calf muscle. It will defo speed up recovery time.
Good luck.

I have sprained my ankle a month ago and was really gutted. Started using kinesio tapes and mild work out plus a lot of resting and although slightly painful, I am doing the required exercises successfully.
Try it:

There are lots of videos on YouTube how to attach them for different types of sprains. It really works!!!
Good luck

Did you stick it on yourself or get to a physio?

Did it myself using YouTube and physio websites as guide. The tapes basically emulate your muscles and give you additional support to the injured muscle. So rather than making it stiff they stretch along with it. Awesome product
