Victoria Police may be recruiting from overseas soon
Just passing on a post from another forum...
Heard on the news yesterday (25 Aug 2011) that they are may be recruiting police from overseas. This may be of interest to any police personnel looking to move over to Aus. Keep finger on the Victoria Police web site.
FYI, their web site is http://www.police.vic.gov.au/content...ument_ID=26975
Vicpol also have a good facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/#!/VictoriaPoliceRecruitment

Update:
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/more-n ... 6122414133
The state government has been driving a very big recruitment campaign and recently changed state law to allow NZ citizens to apply to VicPol.
While a lateral transfer scheme would be great, it may be that the state government changes their State Migration Plan to incorporate Police Officers as a recognised occupation. It is updated regularly with the last update on the 12th July

Keep an eye on the Aussie immigration website over the next few weeks

Nothing so far mate, iv been checking most days.
You should drop an email to Vic Pol to see if there may be a drive or if it's just media speculation.

Re: Victoria Police may be recruiting from overseas soon
It's all gone quiet. I'll post again if I hear anything.
The Academy has been taking in double squads (60 in total) every two weeks all year but the last intake was a single squad with a squad of PSOs (protective service officers) but tomorrow I've heard it's to be another single squad again. There could be an operational reason for this but it's also possible that applications are slowing up a bit. If quality applications are slowing up then maybe they'll start looking further afield.
Also a couple of weeks ago there was a new Chief Commissioner appointed so there might be a change to the recruitment strategy coming through from that.
So I'd advise to keep checking every couple of weeks or so.
