Re: Royal Cayman Islands Police Vacancies
It's Official with regard to career breaks HR says no..... Don't know what I'm going to do. I need a change but is it too much of a risk. Has anyone else got a career break recently? I would also like to hear from anyone who has rejoined after a stint with the RCIPS how easy was it to get back in?

Has anyone who was interviewed heard anything yet? I was told during the interview that I'd hear in two weeks, and thats come and gone.

Hi
I was told last week, that the Sgt's short list will be done btwn this week and next week !
The HR office is very small and if they want 50, it's going to take a while !
Get used to the slower, "Soon Come" pace of Cayman !

Would love to see the stats of the 50 selected, how many are still there after 12 months...
Come to think of it, wonder how many are still there from the recruitment campaign of Summer 2010...?
My guess is not too many, hence the reason for this recruitment drive.

Probably not many. I doubt they will get 50 when career breaks are a thing of the past. RS is the corruption as bad as I've heard it is? That is an issue for me, will they want me back when I've been employed with a corrupt force?

You know where you stand with PACE, even though you think it's a pain in the A*&%. All you got to do is follow it.
However: Judges Rules + RCIP interpretation = problems....
Don't so much think of the Judges Rules as rules, per se. Think of them more as guidelines. Guidelines which can be stretched, bent, pushed, pulled. Which is the problem.
A friend of mine who re-applied to his home force missed the cut off point for his application because of an outstanding complaint with RCIP.
As it happens it was a nonsense complaint which nothing come of it.
However, the home force was unable to get the relevant info from the RCIP because of their annoying 'soon come' attitude, as a result he lost his chance to rejoin..... Then the cuts took place!

Just be aware that there is no PACE. I like PACE, PACE is black and white.

They did say they wanted a start date as soon as possible and asked what the minimum notice I had to give was. They also asked how long I would need to get my affairs in order before the move... Mind you they did say I'd hear in two weeks and my interview was on the 3rd!
