Post interview paperwork.

Now. I know this seems a bit of jumping the gun to some. However, there's a lot of waiting to be done during the application process and you can alleviate this to some degree by having already obtained the documents they will request post interview, as some of the documents can take a long time to arrive. I found it agonising; coming down each morning wondering if the post would include a vital piece of paper needed to progress my application!
If you obtain them in advance, get them certified, you can send them off the minute the request comes in.

WAPol will ask for the following. They may request it all at once. They didn't with me, which I found all the more painful!

1. Police Certificate for Immigration Purposes.
[email protected]

I already had this from my visa application. But it can take up to 10 working days to arrive if you do not have it express processed.

2.Driver's licence transcript.
[email protected]

This can take up to 15 working days to arrive! Recruiting give you the name of a contact, but they don't expedite the application.

3. Bankruptcy check.
I used Experian. Don't fall for the 'free' one. This is a 30 day trial, after which you pay monthly if you don't cancel. The statutory £2 report is here:
£2 Statutory Credit Report – Experian UK
Again this can take up to 2 weeks to process.

Finally the medical. You can't do much about this. But make enquiries, as not all GPs can or will do work based medicals.
If you're in the South East, I recommend PHC Occ Health (PHC Occupational Health - The Preventative Healthcare Company)
They have experience of doing WAPol medicals and were spot on.

Initially recruiting only asked me for 1 and 2. Which I duly arranged and sent off. Thinking that for some reason I didn't need a credit check or medical (possibly because I'd already done them for my visa). But no. 3 weeks later they were asked for. I was like, 'AAARRGGGHH! Why didn't you ask for them all together!!! This has unnecessarily added weeks to my process time!'

Anyway, good luck everyone. See you out there next year!
