Re: Policeman in uk move to Australia
From what I gather, recruitment has stopped both in South Australia and WA.
Looks like the recession means more local residents applying for 'secure jobs'.
They MAY return to the UK in 2010 but I wouldn't bank on it.

Re: Policeman in uk move to Australia
Hi,
Both my wife and I are now permanent residents in Oz having left Scotland 18 months ago. Best move we have ever made. We have a daughter wishing to move here with her husband and young children to begin a new life.
Her husband is a Police Officer with 4 years service and wants to work as a Police Officer in Oz, Finding it really hard to make any progress despite his experience.
Welcome your suggestions particularly re Queensland, They are arriving in Oz in 4 weeks for a four week holiday. Any current information would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

Re: Policeman in uk move to Australia
Hi Baz
Many thanks, likewise I am a retired UK Police Officer, now living and working in Oz with no wish to return to the UK.
My daughter will get sponsored for permanancy as a specialist nurse and could gain employment quickly in Queensland.
I will try and follow up some enquiries with Quensland Police re PACE.
Thanks once again, I am sure life as a Policeman in Oz is a bit different!!!
All the very best
