Yep mine too...........but at the time of that I spoke with the practice manager as they wanted to charge me £100 for that.......but I said if I was successful then I would need a full medical, so we agreed I would pay £25 for the fitness form and then £100 for the medical. So when I originally went to book the medical they then stated they wanted £148..........well it took a not so gentle reminder that the practice manager quoted £100. I have lived in Oz before, so before anyone makes the usual comments on this thread about you better get used it, I already know what they do/do not charge for and if you have private medical insurance which isnt excessive then you should be pretty much covered in oz. Anyway rant over.........so hopefully after tomorrow afternoon, all my paperwork should be in.

The only reason we warn people about the medical situation in Aus is because many migrants arrive expecting it to be like the NHS. Forewarned is forearmed!! As for medical insurance, trust me, not everyone can afford it.

Glad you managed to get a good deal on your tests

Right......now completed "blow in a tube test" so medical is now complete, just have to hope that the surgery do not lose all the paperwork before sending it off. I did leave instructions what was needed to be done with it lol

Just had an email to say they looking into a previous neck injury. It's caused no problems since the scan but now it's a nervous wait in our house. So much for celebrating bonfire night.

I've heard nothing Vikki and am stressing to the max about previous injuries so I know how you're feeling and it's not nice.
When did you send the medical?

I hope you're right.

I'm sure you guys will be fine. If they're looking in to it they'll surely just want confirmation that it's been no problem I.e quick email to HR confirming no subsequent time off and that should be that.

I'm keeping everything crossed for everybody. We've come too far to bow out over this.

Paul been very quiet tonight I don't know what to say to him. I told him that no matter what happens he has tried and dine his best. I now know how much we want it. When the thought if it getting took away from you is there it makes you want it even more. I don't know what we will do if it's a no. It's took over our life these past few months.

Vikki, positive attitude now. It's not a "no", at least they have explained early doors about the delay, that's all it will be, a delay. It could be worse for Paul, he could support Newcastle!

Fingers crossed for ya.

Finally got medical completed today. My GP was excellent and couldn't be more helpful, he had organised a specialist to come to his surgery to do the lung test but they failed to show up so he took it on himself to get me a priority appointment this morning in the hospital to get the job done. It took about 4 visits to his surgery to get the medical fully completed. He is emailing off tonight. He would not take payment for any of the visits until the medical was completed. The total amount he charged me for everything including the hospital appointment was 50 Euro. What a man 😃

That's good to hear Raging, a GP that makes sure the job is done properly. Now to sit back and wait!
