Presumably if you're successful they will now give you more than 5 weeks to pack up your life and move?

No redcapp. You got an interview didn't you.. I didnt even get one of those lol.. ive booked a holiday now.. I emailed them numerous times and they never even emailed back.. I thought if you treat potential new officers like that before they even start, then whats it going to be like when your in... when I have looked at other forces they have akways emailed back wituin 48 hours. I wish who ever get it the best of luck and hope the people that get the position let others know how they get on.

Hi folks

wanted to put in my pennies worth. Metalredstar is right. You wont be accepted back in a UK force if you return and want to re-join. I think its less than 3 years though. I haven't long been back from a 1 and 1/2 career break. I tried applying for MOD as I'm sick of the Met. but they wouldn't accept me due to being out of the country for more than 6 months in the last 5 years prior to applying for the position.

I have considered the RCIPS, I am aware of the risks of possible 2 years only. Quite frankly the I feel about work right now I may just take that risk. since one more year of this BS I'm dealing with and I am in the frame of mind to quit anyway, and look for something else.

Following on with what I said. Someone one else on this forum a while back came back from the RCIPS and could not get back in any of the forces due to being out of the country for so long, He wanted to warn people of this before the resign. It came as a bit of a surprise when he return to the UK to find this out. I cant find the post otherwise I would have put it in here.
