Plumber/Gas engineer seeks advice to work in America
 

Hi All,
New to this site, i'm a 39 year old heating engineer looking to emigrate to the states, i'm very qualified in all aspects of plumbing/heating/gas/lpg and renewables, with 17 years experience
Do any of my UK qualifications stand for anything in the states, ie: Gas safe/city and guilds/CITB etc
If not would i be considered over there for a position
Also what sort of qualificatins would i need to benefit me

Are you already a citizen or LPR, or do you have another route to a green card? It's just that being a plumber/gas engineer isn't likely to be enough to get you in to the US I'm afraid.

If you don't have another way to a visa other than an employment based visa, then how about Canada or Oz? It's also worth asking in the US immigration forum to see if the lovely folks there have any suggestions for you.
