Question about receiving British Widow's Pension

I am posting this on behalf of Carole who emailed me this morning. I have no clues about this sort of thing, so I told her I would post it here and see if any of you lovely people give shed some light on it.

Before I arrive in Manila I was wondering if you could give me any advice re British Widow's Pension or Age Pension. I receive a certain amount every fortnight but the amount is frozen as my husband who was Scottish died in Australia and as we don't have a reciprocal agreement with Britiain re pensions, the pension gets frozen never to increase when leaving Britain to live in Australia.

That was a bit convalitive! However, I would like to be able to find out if they will increase the pension for me whilst in the Philippines for the two months and also I am travelling thru to UK immediately afterwards. I am wondering if the British Consulate in Manila is the place to approach or if it has to be done thru UK. I have sent two emails to UK but do not receive replies. Very frustrating.

Many thanks
Carole
