Re: NCR llockdown
As expected a lower number from election day: 109. Missed recording the test number for May 9.
Deaths 0 Active 3,328, down 310 Location detail: NCR 52 and up to 48% of all cases. Top 6 cities by population at 29. Regions CL and 4A with only 19 cases between them. These 3 regions with 65% of all cases. Visayas 18 cases, WV with 14 of them. Mindanao 14 cases. Nine other cities: 0 - 3 cases. Latest Asian table from Worldometer. Ordered by new cases. With total deaths: https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/british...178da71dfe.jpg Taiwan having a bad time. Vietnam deaths look high but it has a population of nearly 100M. A surprise for me. Its deaths per M lower than that of the Philippines. 365 vs 538. The US passes a grim milestone of a million official deaths: https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/british...6fb1179aff.jpg Some there putting it down to fraudulent hospital practices but while these have no doubt occurred I think the total likely to be well understated. Looks an interesting video but in the throes of moving so haven't seen it yet. Wifi uncertain at new address and so will be without use of the desktop for a while. But will do what I can on the phone. |

Re: NCR llockdown
Weekly covid report for election week.
National cases 1,145, down 7% (-9%) NCR 430 cases, down 15%... .the same as last week's fall. CL down 19% (+32%) 4A down 12% (-10%) WV down 11% (+14%) CV down 27% (+20%) EV and MIM have usually small case numbers, missing data last week, but as a guide the Visayas 143 cases this week and had at least 174 last week. So a definite fall in the Visayas. For Mindanao I am missing one day's data last week for all its regions. But as a guide 180 cases this week and at least 121 last week. Probably no more than 30 or so cases were missing so likely an increase of about 30 cases or about 20% on the week for Mindanao as a whole. |

QC and Paranaque City had significant increases. Around the NCR region 4A with a small increase but CL was up by 28%. The two regions combined up 13%. Last week CL was down 19%, 4A down 12%. Elsewhere Visayas numbers were up by 11%. In contrast Mindanao cases were down by 6%. So a significant uptick in the NCR. Th e regions around the NCR following to a lesser extent. The Visayas also. Mindanao regions not affected. |
Re: NCR llockdown
Yesterday a lower 191 cases announced. Test numbers down by 2.1k to 21.2k on Saturday. Previously there was a 2 day process before the DOH announced cases. But now judging by the numbers maybe at least some only 1 day due to the far fewer cases being tested.
Deaths 0 No process with death numbers! Active 2,252, down 6 Location detail NCR. much lower. Because from usually lower Saturday testing? Or Saturdays high number of cases was only due to backlog? At 55 and 29% of all cases. Six biggest cities 27. QC 10. CL 23, 4A up 12 to 33. These 3 regions 59% of all cases. Visayas 25, Mindanao 37 cases. |
Re: NCR llockdown
Yesterday by chance the same total as for Sunday.. 191. But testing on Sunday was well down at 14.9k.
Deaths 0 Active 2,271, up 19 Location detail NCR 70 and 37% of all cases. From its 6 biggest cities came 47 cases. Manila 16, QC 12. CL down to 16 but 4A up by 13 to 46. These 3 regions had 69% of all cases. Visayas regions 19, Mindanao 27. According to the DOH 6 regions now at "low risk". CL, Bicol, EV, SOCCSK, Caraga, BARMM .. . and concerned about these regions for their recent case growth: NCR, IL, Cag, CL, 4A, Mim, Bicol, CV, EV, Zam, Caraga. I need to return to monitoring all regions! Omicron BA 2.12.1 sub lineage Being blamed. But no large scale genomic testing here since the start of 2022. US estimate 47.5% as against BA 2 50.9% there. Set to become dominant in the US soon due to its greater immune escape. But conflicting studies on severity. Philippines vaccine coverage: ABS-CBN data: 69M fully. Boosters 13.8M. John's Hopkins says 63% fully vaccinated. Regional differences NCR 100% CL 79.3 4A 75.3 CV 65.0 Davao 69.5 So the regions with lower percentages at some risk from the newer Omicron sub lineages. The more so given the low take up of boosters. |
