Re: Me and My Family
My wife is still suffering from abdominal pains although not so acute. So yesterday, we took the arduous journey to "The Big City" to see a specialist. She has so far had 2 ultra-sounds and been seen by 3 doctors. Being seen by 3 doctors is folly. ....they all have different opinions. The specialist gave her medication to further lower SGPT levels, UTI infection and pain killers. We have to go back in about 10 days time with new blood and urine tests. A further ultra sound will be necessary. Her hormonal problems still continue but not as severe as before. Perhaps the stresses she has been under has diminished somewhat after the catastrophic failure of her business and massive business debts. Also, after her D and C not long ago, we have had no word on the results of her routine cancer scan. No news is good news.

In the car on the way home the cause of my abdominal pain became plainly obvious - trapped wind ( which is painful ), for which, despite being dragged to the hospital by her, I felt a bit sorry for Her-In-Doors as it even made my eyes water. The problem is - what is the alternative. I think the NHS has an online "Doctor" site that will give some info if you put in your symptoms - does anyone have a link to this?

Yesterday I was marched, by Her-In-Doors, to the hospital because I had been complaining if abdominal pain. A thorough examination by a top doctor confirmed that I had appendicitis and would need to be admitted immediately for an operation to remove it. I did manage to string the doctor along and found out that the operation would cost P130/150k plus care/hospital fees. When I said that I thought I could not afford this, all the "If you don't have it done now" threats came out - that was until I pointed out the scar where I had my appendix removed nearly 50 years ago. I asked him how much his bill for the world class advise would be. No answer, he just left the room.

Why not flood the hospital with shocking letters of complaint from different corners of the globe. I for one would participate!
Pleased to hear you're ok, and had a good blow-out since. That f*rt was worth it's weight in gold....

Never used the site, but some of the answers thrown up via FBook appear reasonable.

His tonsils were removed when he was a kid, the sinus had no problem. This happened in Germany.

I to had a similar occurrence here in the Philippines. I woke up one morning and discovered a very large swelling on my elbow. I checked out the symptoms and causes on NHS direct. I read that it was probably a ‘tennis elbow ‘ that would reduce in size, back to normal in a couple of weeks.
Wanting a second opinion I went to the local doctor who prescribed anti biotechs and told me to return after a week. After a week I returned to the doctor with the swelling still very evident. The doctor suggested that I go to see a consultant at a local hospital.
On seeing the consultant he advised I have surgery to remove the swelling. Having had and paid for medical treatment just 6 weeks prior I refused. I was in absolutely no pain, the swelling just looked ugly.
Needless to say after a couple of weeks the swelling completely went down and my elbow was back to normal. The NHS site did infer that the swelling was caused by a build up of fluid, and simple lancing could remedy the problem. I did suggest this to the consultant but it was adamant that surgery was required.
It does pay to read the information on the internet before seeking unprofessional advice.

We assume these experts only exist in the 3rd world. They also exist in the very 1st world: my husband was told he needs his tonsils removed, and a sinus blockage surgically removed.

I'm aware of this possibility. However, this was not the case. It was a matter of "milking" a foreigner with private insurance.

I suppose one good thing might come out of this and that is Her-in-Doors may not be so insistent in trying to drag me off to the hospital the second I sneeze.

Re: Me and My Family
Hi 11, with regard to the guy that can get you out of jail with one call. Years ago when I lived in Angeles and worked in a bar there were some guys who apparently worked for a group supported by Hillary Clinton and her mates. There job was to fit up foreigners with their medical break throughs of telling the age of a woman by examining her teeth etc. Personally I would be very careful of that guy. Human trafficking is the Philippine name for prostitution as I am sure you are aware and watch out where foreign religious groups are involved.
