Getting back to the original thread.

Wedding preparations..... Now well under way. We have a team of 4 photographers, a personal make-up/hair stylist (a personal friend of lovely lady who happens to be a lady boy and a very lovely man) and a new addition.....a wedding planner. He is also a lady boy ...a friend of make-up/hair stylist ladyboy. Maybe I am wrong, but I just find that lady boys appear to be more professional and devoted to whatever work they undertake. It has given lovely lady more confidence for our big day. I think we are being a bit optimistic to regulate the guests to 50, but we shall see and I have asked the resort owner to provide the extra costs for 60 or 70 guests. One thing that puzzles me. She is busy making a list of those with special duties on the day.....and there are many duties I have never heard of before. But I asked about her two sons who are missing from the special duties list and she has nothing for them. This surprised me. I would have thought her two sons would be involved in some special way.....perhaps she is still trying to keep them a secret? But her family and many relations plus close friends must be aware of them. Keep a secret from our foreigner friends perhaps. It remains a mystery to me.

The Pre-nup Wedding Shoot....... Now done and dusted. It was originally going to be 4 photographers plus her ladyboy stylist. But that enlarged somewhat to the wedding planner, driver and a hanger on.....no idea who she was. But she ate a lot. Lovely lady was up at the crack of sparrows and I was told to be ready to go at 7.00 am. The photographers would take breakfast at her mothers house, whilst she would spend a few hours getting suitably adorned with her LB friend. 7.00 am saw me like a coiled spring ready to go.....but alas....I forgot ....Filipino time. At 8.30, I got a message from lovely lady to get ready to go....the convoy will arrive in 30 mins. I responded with a suitably sarcastic reply. You see, no-one told me they were going to be late and whilst I could have had plenty of time to make breakfast, I thought they would be at my gate for the appointed time. But they were happy stuffing their faces with a good breakfast consisting of bucketfuls of rice and fish heads. Or whatever. It was the photographers who were late arriving. Words were said. Anyway....off we went in the pouring rain to our photo shoot.

We had two locations. The first was an idyllic romantic location, overlooking the sea. A small resort. Only problem was.....it was closed and it was hosing down with rain. There was a telephone number to ring posted on the entrance and although my lovely lady had her 3 phones with her, she had no load. Nor did I. She had already used that up. However, from this slightly inauspicious start, things could only get better. And it did. The sun came out as the entrance was finally opened and the photographers set about their work. We were made to pose...do this...do that...whilst cameras were snapping, a drone buzzing overhead and a video camera working non-stop. Changed into various costumes bought by my lovely lady for the day. I have to say. all the photographers worked hard......my original fears were unfounded.

Had a good lunch at the resort where the marriage would take place and off we went to the second location. The resort owners residence. This was an amazing property....or to be more accurate...estate. The sun was now shining brightly, LB worked on my lovely lady and then away we went again. It took place by the swimming pool surrounded by manicured lawns overlooking the sea Cameras snapped, and the drone was swooping high and low. Cameras snapped whatever we did and I felt myself looking for a camera man when I went to the WC. I closed the door in case a drone swept in. This time the props included wine which of course just had to be sampled. And so it went on...and on....and on. The lead photographer continually echoing those dreaded words...."just one more".

But I am glad its done. It was an excellent day as it turned out.....but a bigger event awaits.

Hi 11, good on you for the prenups and paying for the photographers. We did the whole bit years ago and spent a day doing the prenups and getting changed half a dozen times and driving for hours to beaches lighthouses and historic buildings. Means nothing to me but my wife looks at our prenup and wedding photos every week and it makes her really happy. She has been reviewing them for years so money well spent even though I have only looked at them a couple of times. Had the requisite ladyboys for makeup etc and they are bloody good at what they do and well worth the money. You are likely to have a cardiac arrest when you get the final numbers for your reception. At our wedding there were about 150 adults invited, over 200 turned up including everyones bloody kids. As always they turn up eat the food and are gone before the first dance. Ah well thats how it goes and best just smile and accept it as it will never change.

An alternative is to do the wedding a little far away and arrange for a bus - you control the numbers via the seats on the bus and they leave when you decide.

Or you could control the numbers by just leaving on time.

We had the usual fight on numbers. 150 chairs at our wedding with only about 15 occupied at the start of proceedings (of which 9 were mine). The rest filled out at the ceremony went on.

And this was after the bus trick.

Greetings!

Yes, the control of numbers is my prime concern. I have a limited budget and I don't wish to exceed that by very much but it appears that 50 is unrealistic so I have asked for costs to cover 60 and 70 OFFICIAL guests. That I expect to cope with the help of my flexible friend. I hope to deal with the unofficial guests by producing a list to the guard on the gate and one patrolling the beach. Any problems will be directed to the wedding planner and then me. The seating arrangements will have named places and anyone without a seat will be asked to leave. However, a balance has to be drawn to make sure no unpleasantness takes place.

MikeNZ.....Yes I agree about ladyboys and although they appear to be met with some distain by some locals, they have my full admiration for their personal qualities and work ethic. Something I forgot to mention on my pre-nup post.......whilst we were having lunch at this resort, the two of them were sat opposite me. I ordered a bratwurst and French fries and it was a ginormous bratwurst. The two LB's eyes bulged when they saw this magnificent bratwurst and they did not appear to know what it was. I told them what it was, but it didn't stop their fits of giggles. No idea why.....

A green eyed monster has appeared. Lovely lady posted a few pre-nup pics on fb which I guessed alerted her many thousands of fb friends that a marriage was in the offing. They attracted many comments etc (none by her family.....is that because of me or her, or both of us?). I digressed. Anyway, I got a message request on fb which I accepted and I was told that lovely lady has a bf in a town 5 hrs away which she often visits. I was given a date on their last meet up and I should check her mobile phone for evidence. The date didn't match her last visit, and the fb page from which the msg came appears to be fake. Very little info and the profile pic was of a Phils celebrity Page has since been taken down. Showed this to lovely lady and she was horrified and bemused...if that is possible. Anyway, I have had this sort of thing before (documented here) and just reminded myself how much more fun it is living in Phils.

Her father had had an ex-ray and it shows an enlarged heart. This is due to it overworking because of clogged main artery. He has been prescribed medication and needs a further X ray. Worrying news.....

Hi 11, check the medication on google to check it is really a proper drug. Make sure he also taking one disprin a day for blood thinning. Everyone with anything is prescribed disprin, cheap and effective.

Hi 11, don't want to appear callous but more X-rays and all the bullshit will not help your father in law. If they are telling the truth and he does have an enlarged heart, your options are drugs or surgery. Surgery will kill him if you can steal enough money to pay for it. Drugs are a possibility but you would be best getting them direct from India because will be cheap as chips compared to what they will try to sell you. To identify the real problem he will need echocardiograms and all the rest of the crap, waste of time. I am not a health nut at all but I would suggest he get off the typical shit PI rice diet with alcohol which has caused the problem to start with and at least try a new lifestyle till the grim reaper comes calling. Don't let them take him to hospital or the entire baranguy will be bankrupt for the next millennium.
Have to share another classic doctor story about six months after being diagnosed in NZ I had a stem cell transplant in my opinion waste of bloody time but I imagine 14 days in hospital and all the drugs and medication would have cost the NZ taxpayer tens of thousands of dollars. Today I started the second week of a drug company trial and there was another guy who had got onto the trial with me. He was diagnosed with exactly the same thing one day later than me over two years ago. His specialist recommended two stem cell transplants with a 60 day gap. He underwent the two transplants and when I asked him what he thought, said like me waste of bloody time and we know they did not work because blood results showed no real change. He finished by saying that the doctors were so enamoured with this treatment that this specialist was going to treat all her melanoma patients this way. Absolute waste of time and money but thats what they recommend in NZ (think its a first world country) Incidentally after this both of us have got our own drugs from India because we were not happy with the NZ funded options and our specialists recommendations.

Treatments change every day and doctors go for what they hope is the best option, in PI your chances of accurate diagnosis and treatment apart from in a very few hospitals is near zero so don't waste your time or money and the Filipino attitude of trying to do the best for a family member is ill advised bullshit bravado which they will regret till their dying day when they will put yet another generation in debt for life. MikeNZ...... I have seen the X Ray report which states his heart is over enlarged. The result is 0.54 on whatever scale is used and outside the limits. It also states that his main artery is clogged due to deposits mainly cholesterol. He is currently on statins and has a new prescription which sadly I cannot read. No doubt if I have to fork out for it, I will have a clearer idea what it is. I assume lovely lady is paying for this and again I assume the next X Ray is to check on the effects of the new medication. Yes, the remedy is firstly by medication and if that fails .....then surgery will be the next option. He had a mild stroke 4 yrs ago and I suspect this was due to the main artery problem.

I always thought wrongly obviously that xray is for bone and hard structures and ultrasound for soft tissue like a heart. If he had a mild stroke 4 years ago has he not been on maintenance medication since then?

CT scan of the heart or angiogram will show heart disease.
