Default Life Certificate UK Pensions!

I have just received mine today, posted February ninth.
So expect yours to arrive soon. There is a sixteen week allowance, for replying.

Can't see how posting here will certify that you are still alive. In fact quite the opposite, this may provide evidence that invalidates your claim.

What triggers these, do you have to be registered as living outside the Uk? and are they yearly?

Seems approximately every two or three years. Living overseas is definitely a trigger. As it is harder to check on you. Sad to say; fraud does happen. At least this time they have given sixteen weeks to reply. The letter also, only took thirty days to arrive.

British expats over 75 are required to send life certificates to the DWP every two years, to ensure that they are still eligible to receive the state pension.
instructions for counter signature are on the form.
I think signed by any (not necessarily British ) bank manager/solicitor is required

Any British Expat receiving a state pension is required to complete a proof of life certificate. It starts at age 67. Also private pensions also require proof of life certificates. I just go to the nearest notary and have my existence confirmed. Usual cost 150 pesos a hit.
The 16 weeks is vital. I live on the Eastern extremity of Metro Manila and typically a letter from Blighty takes 2 days to arrive at NAIA receiving facility. Another 7 days to reach the Central Philpost facility. Another 21 days to reach Marikina (10Kms away) and up to 14 days for the lovely Philpost staff to transport the letter 500 metres to my residence.
To end on a positive note a letter posted in Marikina takes 7 days to reach its UK destination.

My husband is 70 and receiving a (partial) UK pension, we live in Australia and he's never been asked to provide one of these.

I shall use my friendly judge for signatory, cost is a good bottle of Tanduay. I hate people who brag about how good their postal system is. A letter from Capiz to UK posted 15 March, arrived Manila 6 June, Arrived NAIA 14 June, arrived to house in UK 17 June. Return journey took 3 days to NAIA, another 29 days to Capiz and 5 days to our village.

I was asked while in Spain, and had either to get a solicitor to do it, or someone on the UK electoral roll, fortunately a friend had her son visiting, and he was willing to sign the form, I wasn't even UK state pensioner at the time either, biut was in receipt of an NHS pension.

US colleague had a Japanese pension as a result of 8 years employment in that jurisdiction. Annually he had to return a quaintly-translated "Certificate of Continuing Existence"
