very deep and not caused much in way of harm we are on 12th floor and it was a shake rattle and roll event. those on the 30th floor felt it was the worst ever but no harm done. it did go on for a longer period than usual.

We felt it in Tagaytay. Stronger than usual but though we're nearer it was short..Some buildings in Batangas cracked, apparently.

True what you have written about feeling it more the further off the ground one is.

Having lived Italy In Italy for 3 years, we experienced earth tremors 2-3 times per week. I used the term tremor deliberately because it is not classed as an earthquake until it reaches 5 on the Richter scale. So most of the "earthquakes" here are indeed Tremors.

I lived in Pozzuoli, just down the road from Versuvius and the area had been plagued by the phenomenon known as Bradyism. This is molten lava underground under great pressure pushing the ground upwards. From memory, the ground had lifted about 90 metres over the thousands of years.

This constant movement brought about many tremors each day only a few of which could be felt each week. New fumeroles appeared almost daily on land and out to sea.

Normal experience was watching the chandelier waving, plates rattling and of course the shaking. Thoughts were always...is this it? The big one? But after about 10 - 30 seconds everything became quiet again.

If you were outside, you could hear a tremor coming. Imagine a few hgv's approaching. Many times watering the garden, I could see the flow of water from the hose going up and down. Driving was interesting. You couldn't hear it coming but driving along the motorway, you could feel the movement of the vehicle going sideways and back. Not good at 120 kmph.

Interesting times....
