Drivers licence

I am thinking of driving again here in the Philippines. I have a photocopy of my old UK licence, but I gave it up a long time ago. So I will have to start again here. I have no problem driving, but having seen examples of the written test, they are all in Tagalog. Do the test centres have English versions?

It might be a lot less hassle to use a friend's address in the UK and renew your UK license, which is no problem if you have a biometric passport. Then to get a Philippine drivers license all you will need is your UK license and a good helping of patience.

Thanks for that Stokkevn. I up my licence because of health issues. These have been sorted, but it means I would have to undergo a medical in the UK. So I will have to go down the slow and typical Philippine bureaucratic route.

Judging by the way people drive here , you will have no problems . You have passed a stringent test in the uk, here they know nothing they just aim and accelerate. Best of luck with all the b/s. When I got my license here the scales to weigh me were broke, so they asked me my weight. Then the doctor could not be arsed with the blood pressure check, so she said do you know your blood pressure. I didn't have a clue but I know to be perfect it should be 120 over 80 so that's what I said. I wear quite strong specs and she said , remove your spec's and read the bottom line from the chart. I said I cannot even read the top one, that's why I wear spec's. She then said, try harder. I asked her how do I try harder to make my eye's see what they cannot . She then said try with your spec's which I did and passed her stupid test. Give yourself plenty of time when you go and take someone who speaks the language it helps.

Sorry I forgot to say yes, as I understand it they do have an English version of the paper.
