departure fee
hi all. has the 550 peso fee for leaving MNL been cancelled now ?

Re: departure fee
It's either been cancelled (as you put it), or terminal 3 at NAIA judt simly doesn't have that facility? I was also surprised not to see it still applies, for departing passngers, but the previous 9 times I've flown home from Philippines has been from the god-foresaken T1. So, as I said, maybe the change in terminal has something to do with it?

Re: departure fee
Thought departure fee is now included in fare for international flights?

Re: departure fee
I flew out of NAIA T3 last march and I got charged but iv been hearing conflicting tales that its now been cancelled ??

Re: departure fee
Not been cancelled it is in lncluded in your ticket. You receipt should show break down.
For residents like me it also shows the travel tax 1620p |
Re: departure fee
It depends when you bought your ticket. We flew out at the end of May and as we had bought our tickets the previous August we had to pay the fee. Any tickets bought since about February should have it included in the ticket price.

Re: departure fee
The 550 terminal fee has been integrated to your airline tickets.

Re: departure fee
thanks all. I just bought another ticket in may for a September trip so I should be all clear. I have heard talk of the fee coming back with increases up to 750 peso now ??

Re: departure fee
It used to be 750, before being surprisingly lowered. No-one should complain about having to pay a departure fee (something I've not experienced at other airports though), because it's just small change and if you can afford to fly Europe/America to Philippines you can afford the fee.

Re: departure fee
The departure and landing fees at UK airports are an order of magnitude greater than the Philippines. You don't see it because it's always been in with the ticket.

I can remember paying departure fee at Vancouver years ago. It was $12CAN, from a self service machine and security collected the receipt as you passed through. Same at Toronto. Then it got incorporated into the fare and the airlines became responsible for paying it on your behalf. AAH! Perhaps that why you still have to pay it here, to make sure they get it now , not 12 months later when the airline gets around to it? |
