Dentist and Doctor.

I see an NHS dentist here in the UK every 6 months so pay for my treatment but not so much as if I saw a private dentist.

I am not on any medication (yet) but it is comforting to know that if I get ill or have a problem I can make an appointment to see my local GP.

I was wondering what the situation is if I move to Manila regarding a Dentist and Dr.
Anyone with experience please let me know the situation.

Plenty of doctors and dentists in manila. You will find expat ones or you can use any. have a look at health insurance as its not free here and no agreement with the UK.

hav insurance that we got in Australia and covers us here. Expires in September so will look about for new and let you know. I heard there is a Philhealth that covers 50% of medical bills. Maybe some of the other posters know more.

Doctors are plentiful, 500 pesos for the innitial consultation, no appointment neccessary Blue Cross is the renowned health insurance in the Philippines and has several plans available...see their website. The more you pay, the more you recover. i am 65, my wife is 57 and we pay about the equivalent of 2000 pounds a year. May seem a lot but surgery and hospital stay is expensive. A friend paid over 10,000 pounds for his brother in law to have life saving surgery on his lungs. A kidney transplant can be over 30,000 poounds !!!

Dentists are also plentiful, do not use a lady to work on your mouth, I've tried three and each one has been rough, no match for a good male dentist.
Had an extraction not long ago and the guys 'young lady assistant held my head whilst he did the pulling....never had that before

Please can someone recommend a reasonably priced, reliable and honest genreal practitioner? My gf has been having seriously bad headaches and we want some urgent, focused diagnosis we can trust.
