Crazy Bills?
 

The party list system allows inexperienced and unqualified people to get into the House of Representatives and table bills. Many like these. They usually don't get anywhere and this one won't but it may influence other legislative attempts to increase military training and service.

Authored by a Youth Party List representative from a group previously known for its leftist leanings. But here we have a measure which would probably be opposed by most on the left!

Which goes to show how power driven politics is here. The bill is sponsored by the President's eldest son and the newly appointed House Speaker.

There are no unqualified people in the House or the Senate.

To become a bagger in a supermarket requires to have completed high school
To work as a checkout cashier in supermarket requires a 4 year college diploma
To work as a chef requires Bachelor's/College Degree

To become a Congressperson or Senator highest qualification required is to read and write Tagalog.

Was using unqualified generally...but yes that's about it as far as requirements to stand, except you have to be at least 25 or 35 years of age, respectively.
Except the party list representatives who also have to be registered voters (like the other members of Congress or Senate), so at least 18. Plus some connection with the aims of the particular Party list
they want to represent. But somewhat strangely a Youth representative, like Mr Manuel, 27, must be between 25 and 30 on the day of the election!
These Youth sector Party listers must be targets for the regular Representatives to table and sponsor bills other members don't want anything to do with , and in his case do a 180 on something I am sure his voters believed he stood for.

Very careful to leave marinduque off the list, cannot afford to lose ''home boy ' votes.

Not sure how this affects existing owned vehicles were quite clear there is no land for a car or car port. I would not be surprised if more than a few mayors who need the masa vote will not support this assault on the poor

I believe it's already a condition of taxi franchises to have off street parking, it's the enforcement that is lacking.

The next thing will be that all private vehicle owners will also have join an accredited Private Vehicle Owners Club. Stupid is, stupid does!

Yes, you wonder what world these lawmakers live in. But you wonder about the general public too.
Do they know that now for a young person to get a license to use a motorcyle to get to work they are first required to pass an exam after either attending in person sessions for 15 hours or working through 36 online videos, each with a test to pass. Amazingly the same exam that those wishing to driver a car take! Not sure whether they then also take another exam,as car drivers do, to just get their I year student licence. My wife did, and it was based on the first exam! Though possibly because she changed driving school.
There seems to be very few ways these issues affecting ordinary families can get an airing here. Those affected just keep quiet.

Does this not apply to all commercial vehicles, including taxis so that they would not clog up residential roads.

I would not be surprised if the individual cities identified will advise they will determine what happens in their back yard. An example of this is Makati are self exempt from the number late suspension in NCR.....because they have their own code!!

Like when Duterte gave an hour and half speech on nationals standards during Covid on travel, quarantine, vaccination etc and then finished the speech with "It is upto LGUs if they want to have different requirements"

This guy, fresh from 3 terms as Mayor of Binanlonan, Pangasinan, totalling 23 years, obviously took an evening walk when he arrived at his new digs in Manila as newly elected Representative for the 5th district of Pangasinan. Found vendors made that difficult. Not like his home town, which from what you can see online looks neat and tidy.
