Cheap calls to the UK

Greetings,

Can someone recommend the cheapest and easiest way to call the UK? This will be a business call so Viber etc will not apply. I can use either mobile/landline/lap top.

Many thanks!

Skype. I pay 1.4p a minute to landlines and about 6p a minute to mobiles. I use the pay as you go at 10 Euro top up and there is no expiry date on it. If you use it a lot might be worth getting a subscription with unlimited UK landline calls about £6 a month. The quality is far better than the mobiles here.

I forgot to say that if you want to receive calls on Skype you can have up to 10 Skype Numbers attached to your account. You can choose where you want to buy each Skype Number for, so you can have a number with the area code or the country code you regularly expect calls from.

Many thanks. Never knew that I could use Skype to call a bank. Thought it was only for friends and family with Skype. Must admit I am a technophobe as far as these things are concerned, so I assume I just down load it onto my mobile ....follow the instructions and go?

Just about it. Never tried it on a mobile, not sure my Nokia 1200 would work. I have it on my laptop, that is where my WiFi is, but I am sure it works on modern mobiles, Skype credit needs a credit card for first transaction, all subsequent credit purchases just asks if same card to be used.

Yes Pete, Skype works well.Download onto your mobile then you can use either laptop or mobile so long as it's the same account on both. Just buy credit then open Skype and dial just as from a "normal" phone. I call my relatives in UK using Skype and it's cheap.
I used to call my son in Vancouver from the UK and I think it was 5 eurocents a minute.

Thanks all. Did the deed this afternoon without problem. Cost me nothing. It was an 0800 number. And I thought 0800 numbers were not free from mobiles. Call clarity was excellent. Certainly will recommend Skype to others.
