The coincidence for me is that BBM has been DA head for that 7 months!

;;You can't tell me what law you're talking about. I've looked around and cannot find any mention of one. If there is one it must only be for some crops and not others eg tobacco, which doesn't seem logical. Just because some committee chairman used the word "authorised" doesn't mean there is a law. You must know Filipinos often don't get the different English meanings correct. He probably should have used a word like "encouraged". Because for good or bad,it seems the practice of most small scale farmers is to deal with traders..Anyway, why didn't the committee call for the law to be repealed, if there is one?

then write to senator grace poe with your details and tell here she does not know what she is talking about..... all the best

may be closer to the truth, than some would like to hear. same happened when dutert came in . two supposed NBI corrupt officers followed him in and started to shake down the overseas casinos, I wonder who they were raising funds for etc etc

Are you saying that politicians always know what they are talking about? Or don't ever miss speak?

I've looked again at reports of what Grace Poe has said in Senate Committee hearings lately about onions. She talked a lot of sense, called for BBM to appoint a full time DA Secretary.

But in those lengthy quotes she doesn't say there is any law preventing farmers making direct contracts with retailers.

So you are the one who has to submit your details. Here. On this thread.

The name and number of the "law" and a press report of what Poe said. Failing that find any other article or study that mentions the "law" and put the link here.

The Kadiwa project sources some products direct from farmers. I invite you to Google it and read through a few articles. You would think that as it does direct sourcing there would be a reference to your "law" But I couldn't see any.

All the best!

When there's likely misinformation you go first to the source to see if they can back up what they have said.
And you can't. Obviously you don't want to admit you got it wrong. There's no compulsory use of traders here. It's just the practice that has developed.

Yes, Grace Poe said a lot. There are several reports online. Here is one from the Inquirer:

https://opinion.inquirer.net/160420/...ion-over-onion

Nothing about any law.

There is also an official Senate report of her speech. In Tagalog but look through it and you will see no law referred to.

I don't feel Grace Poe needs to be educated. She did a good job in the Senate. It took guts to tell BBM's sister that her brother needed to get out of the DA. Although it is relevant here to note that she is not a lawyer or an expert on Agriculture. If you look at her Senate record it ranges over many issues.

I really feel it's best if we end this now as I've hit a brick, or should I say concrete wall as we're in the Philippines, with you.
Sorry if you didn't get any tuition on the Corn Laws when you were at school. Their repeal brought down the PM..Essentially the same problem here in the Philippines now, although the scale and conditions of international trade are a lot different.

By the way do you have to keep repeating "All the best"? It really would be better if you concentrated more on the substance of your posts. Eg Duterte, NBI, Casinos? Whatever does that have to do with agricultural smuggling or hoarding?

all the best you have no understanding of what you posted re the senator not understanding.. as for corn laws it has nothing to do with price of onions, bread was staple diet, onions are not, an educated person would know this. as for the nbi comments that was not a response to you, but to an educated post by stok. I was reminded of a similar situation of the wrong people following a presidents coat tails into office, will not trouble you with an understanding that you demonstrate is beyond you. . . i will sign off, all the best

Good morning.
Wrong word. A spat is about something not important.

Well someone got out of bed on the wrong side this morning.
Lack of a sense of humour perhaps?

Cramped for space where we are now. Only one side to get out.

Was there anything funny in what you said?

All because I didn't find what you have said is funny? Quite ridiculous!

What's funny about using the words "children" and "spat"? When there is an argument about something important going on.

Psychologists say that people who always laugh at their own jokes show severe insecurity.
