ACR - I-ard Renewal
Hello
just wish to ask :
1) Assuming you submit all necessary documents at Immigration in Intramuros
How long does it take for them to renew ACR -I-card ??
2) Can the Acr-I-Card be renewed in Cebu ??
sorry if these topics have already been discussed ? (could not find)

Did mine in 2011.
You need your passport to do it. The process is quick, and strangely they do not take a new photo.
They will give you a date to collect your new card, if I remember correctly it was two months.
I mentioned the passport bit because I remember from a previous post, that you were renewing it.
Yes I did mine in Cebu. The BI office is on a side road, next to the fire station, with Mandaue Hospital on the opposite side from the fire station.
Oh don't forget the fee, it being the Peso "equivalent" of $US50.
SM department store is not far away, and an SM Savemore with other attendant stores, about halfway between the two. Or if you continue along the road where the BI office is, it brings you out next to Gaisano Metro Mandaue.

Hi thanks again
geeeeee i must hire you as a tourist guide when and if I visit Cebu'
1,000 pesos a day (merienda included) lol
Imigration in Manila Intramuros is 1 total nightmare !
I mean just for annual report you are lost in a crowd of 500 to 1000 people.
Wonderig why it takes 2 months ?? they could do it faster considering all
the pesos they milk from foreigners ??
Good job it lasts 5 years

btw i was informed that you can travel if your acr card is still valid and if it expires whilst you are abroad ,,,, you shall be considered a tourist again upon re-entering the phils .... and can still renew the card though it's a different procedure.

BI in Cebu are polite and very efficient. I cannot compare them with other BI offices, as it is the only one I have been to.
In fairness the two month wait, may well have been because all the originally issued cards were expiring at the same time in 2011. Cebu was the trial run for the ACR-I card. I remember at my first annual registration using the card, that I had to ID myself by placing the computer selected finger on the reader. All my details were on the screen, and my ID was confirmed. I believe it was a test of the system. My registration this year: Go to special window, pay fee and hand over card. Card and receipt returned, all is complete.
The ACR-IC is really very handy as an ID when needed.

Based on your experiences in Cebu'
They seem quite pleasant compared to Manila.
I suppose Manila Immigration has far more traffic of Legal and Illegal
immigrants jeje....
Plus the fact that with the new President Nonoy, Gov.ment staffs
are having harder time to Extort kickbacks for ridiculous reasons lol.
have a peaceful Easter
