13a Visa

Hello everyone,

I got married to my Filipina partner last December, for the past 5 years I have been visiting the Philippines 2-3 times per year and I'm looking to move here permanently so we can be together. I've been to the Philippines many times and I have done my research, I fully understand how difficult it can be to work and live in the Philippines as a foreigner, I personally think I could make it work I'm 26 with 8 years experience working in a call centre for a big UK company and I'm now a team leader. My wife also has a decent paying job for Filipino standards and we are both happy to just live a simple life. What my lack of knowledge is the 13a Visa, if I get approved does it make my chances of finding a job in the Philippines a lot easier? in terms of a work permit etc..... I'm very sure with my personality and experience I would be a great asset for call centre's here as a manager or team leader, I'm also semi-fluent in Tagalog with help from my wife and I'm sure I will be fluent with a few more months in the Philippines.

Thankyou for reading.

13a is in effect your work visa. this makes you employable. In this regard I will send you an IM re call center work

Look on line for the requirements for a 13a visa from bureau of immigration.

I think you will find that a foreigner can buy and own a house in the Philippines.....but not the land it stands on.

Basically correct. But if your spouse dies then the land ownership defers to the foreigner who may own the land until he/she can dispose of it in a reasonable time. Although there is no definition that I can find of what 'reasonable time' is.

i suspect the order of death rarely goes in that order so little to no precedent
