My partner and I are looking to move from the UK to Australia in August 2018. We have had quotes from a few companies, but are unsure of who to go with. Can anyone please let me know of any experiences you may have had with international shippers/movers recently please? We are looking at a 20ft container with sole use, we are also looking for packers and storage when arriving in Australia.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thank you

A few things to check when comparing - are they all FIDI FAIM certified? this is the leading professional certification for international movers giving you peace of mind that your chosen company is fully qualified, licensed and independently vetted in over 200 areas for overseas moving. You can find a list of members on their website. You can also look for members of the BAR overseas moving group which also means they provide an advance payment guarantee. Are they also using FIDI members at destination?
There are also a couple of reviews pages you can find recent experiences on - this forum is a great place to start, you could also try the Facebook pages of those on your shortlist, google reviews or industry specific sites like the BAR's Referenceline or Which? trusted traders too.
If it helps we wrote a guide to choosing an international removals company - which might give you a few more ideas on narrowing down your choice.
Hope it helps!

Given that this is a forum for Bourne International, and they're not one of the companies you've narrowed it down to, this may not be the best place to ask! Maybe ask in the Oz forums instead?

Christmasoopma------not particularly helpful! I haven't used this site before...so instead of being condescending, why not be helpful instead??? perhaps a link to something/forum that is more relevant would be a better way of getting your 'point' across?

If you post in the main Australia forum you will get replies from those of us who have already moved and have experience to share. Unfortunately, because this part of the forum is sponsored by a specific company we cannot share our views in here. Nothing to do with being condescending etc, its just forum rules, we have been told in the past not to post links or mention other companies.

There are a lot of navigation buttons at the top of the page. For example, if you hover over 'Forums' at the top left, it will show a drop down menu which includes ''Living and Moving Abroad' , which in turn will bring up a menu that includes Australia.
Alternatively, above this thread near the top of the page you should be able to see 'breadcrumbs' that start with an open folder sign, followed by British Expats > Partner Forums > etc. Clicking on British Expats will take you to the main index

Oh, and try not to be so touchy. Christmas was trying to be helpful and point out what you were asking, and where you were asking it. We all know emigrating is a stressful time, but snapping at people won't help

Good luck with the search, and for info I used John Mason without issue
