Hello,
We have an offer on moving our belongings from Lyon, France to WA, US , plus disposal of unwanted furniture in the amount of €4995.00, this for a 10foot container. 30%payment due by check or bank transfer on the day we sign our booking contract and 70% on the of moving. Is the pricing close to known cost for such a move and payment method terms typical?
The reason I am asking it seemed quite a bit chaper than other companies and the US partner company had questionable reviews, so I am a bit nervous entering a scam. Is there a way to protect me or something I could asked for that would be a clear red flag if they don’t have it?
I live in the UK at the moment and are doing everything using the Internet.
Thank you so much for your help! Angelika

Is this a UK based company you've got a quote from or a local french company?
the payment procedure is different to how most UK companies operate but this is probably different in France. I would always recommend moving with a FIDI FAIM accredited mover.
If you want to send me a private message with the name of the agent and their destination agent I can tell you if i'm aware of anything that should give you confidence in your selection or where you can find more information?
