East Coast USA to Mainland England

Hey all,

I posted in the general forum earlier and realised I should have posted here.

I am moving a one bed apartment which includes around 60 small boxes a handful of furniture items from Delaware to the Midlands (UK).

Does anyone have any good recommendations from companies they've used in the past?

Thanks

Hello, welcome to BE :)

A great place to start when looking for international removal companies is to look for companies that are FIDI FAIM certified. This is the leading professional certification for international movers giving you peace of mind that your chosen company is fully qualified, licensed and independently vetted in over 200 areas for overseas moving. You can find a list of members on their website. You can also look for members of the BAR overseas moving group which also means they provide an advance payment guarantee. You can choose from movers in the USA or UK, they will use a partner to provide physical local services at whichever side they don't have their own crews (e.g. a UK mover would use a US mover to pack and load and then would deliver and unpack themselves, a US mover vice versa). Whichever company you contract with will be ultimately responsible for quality of service and guiding you through the move so choose whoever you're most comfortable with.

There are a couple of reviews pages you can find recent experiences on - this forum is a great place to start, you could also try the Facebook pages of those on your shortlist, google reviews or industry specific sites like the BAR's Referenceline or Which? trusted traders too.

Finally, we wrote a guide to choosing an international removals company - which might give you a few more ideas and tips on narrowing down your choice.

Hope it helps!
