Re: Waffly update
We looked at the short term visa to come over but we're older and not sure of passing medicals. I don't think I'd cope well with coming over for a while then being told I couldn't stay, we discussed it and said we need to know we can stay indefinitely before moving.
The job offer for MrH is outside Auckland so we gain extra points for that. I don't want to jinx anything by being too open on a public board before final paperwork is in place but it's somewhere we visited and that has affordable housing. Mr H is an electronics engineer with many years experience. I'm now an equine behaviourist plus riding and training coach. It's not something that will make us rich but it might pay enough so we can have the odd treat. If we make it over I'll do my usual thing of applying for all and any jobs I can do although I'm realistic about the chances of getting a job as a new migrant.

Short update. Brexit meant the job offer we had for MrH was withdrawn as it was an expansion of an international company that has been put on indefinite hold post referendum result.
We're now back to applying for jobs again but are currently stuck in the usual loop of no visa meaning no job offer and no job offer meaning no visa. We're exploring all avenues but it's hard to keep our energy and hopes up.
