Permanent Residence...Coming Soon!
Hi guys,
It’s been quite a while since I posted here as I’ve quietly been getting on with life in Christchurch and NZ for 5 and a half years, but as you guys helped greatly when I arrived I wanted to update. I have been involved in the Christchurch infratructure rebuild, now live within the four aves, have travelled around a lot, have seen a few of NZ’s wild sides (quakes, tsunami, fire, flood, slips...), have tramped a lot, run a few half marathons and 10ks, and voted in the last election amongst other things. I now work (confusingly) for 3 councils, principally covering North Canterbury (Hurunui and Kaikoura, mainly Hurunui) but also Mackenzie, doing GIS. I feel very much like a Cantabrian in many ways, and was accepted so quickly and warmly it was almost unbelievable.
The update aftree all that is that I have held my resident visa (from work) for 2 years this coming January 24th, so I’ll be applying for permanent residence then! I had come in on a working holiday visa then graduated through essential skills and then work to residence, basically it suited me to take my time.
Thats about it really, but I just wanted to post this up. Hope you’re all doing well.
Cheers,
Chris
