to pay or not to pay !!

Hi thought i would share our experience with our son in hospital , well here goes !
On Wednesday morning our ten year old son came into our bedroom complaining of severe tummy pains and he was being sick so after a few phone calls to various places we were told to take him to the hospital real quick , so we did and it turned out that he had a burst appendix! which he was operated on straight away and with in a couple of hours he was on the childrens ward with the nicest nurses we have ever come across but the point to this thread is that during the last three days we have been worried for our son but also worried on how much this was going to cost us as we had been told that with our visa we would have to pay although we had been in New Zealand for 18 months and it made a emotional time a really uncomfortable as you all know that wages are not the best in this small country

After all the worry over the last three days with our son and now he is at home and now we have had time to make a couple of phone calls and with the internet we have found out to our delight and relief that we did not have to pay because of the urgency of his operation .

And just to say great work by Dunedin childrens ward and all who were involved!!!

:thumbsup:What a worrying time you've had! So glad your son is now at home & recovering, great news that you don't have to worry about the cost
Best wishes, hopefully this trauma will soon be a distant memory for you all.
