The nearly three year update
Wow - where did that time go???
So my anniversary is strictly in July but I will be in Brisbane then attempting to sun myself in the middle of our lovely South Island winter so decided I'd stick this up early.
Changes:
- I GOT FULL TIME HOURS! This has made a huge difference to me, it means I get more money, better job security and I feel like I've had a massive pay rise.
- I am playing less Roller Derby than I was. I think the break will be good.
- My Mum and Dad made it to NZ!
Things that I love:
- The weird and hilarious informality of news readers here.
- Understanding Rugby.
- The clear blue skies.
- Hagley Park
- Sumner beach.
Things I do not love at all:
- Big Earthquakes (yes Valentines day I am looking at you)
- Mum and Dad leaving (after visiting)
- The Student Loans company.
I am still renting with some good flatmates. If I keep saving the way I am I will be able to afford my own place in about 2 years which will be awesome. I like that it doesn't seem a question to me that this place I want to buy will be in Christchurch. This city is home for me now and I LOVE seeing it rise from the rubble.

Its really nice to hear a positive story, I was really starting to panic about our decision to move back after lurking around these parts for a few weeks.
NZ is not perfect by ANY stretch of the imagination but its lovely to hear of someone really finding their groove amongst it all - best wishes for a happy future LauraNotts
