Working in Forest City/housing/security
I am moving to work in Forest City and will not be living there but want opinions on where would be a good safe place to live where it's possible to meet other people easily and yet get to Forest City without too many issues. is the expatriate community an easy one to move into in JB? I will be bringing a dog with me. Will that be a problem with renting? I'm an Australian female who will be living alone. Any forum advice would be appreciated thank you

Hi Elizabet
Welcome to the forum.
Most "landed" houses will allow dogs, but I expect you'll be looking for an apartment? Some allow, some don't, you really need to pick the brains of an agent.
Forest City is actually quite far from the established expat communities (Leisure Farm, Ledang Heights, East Ledang, Horizon Hills, Setia Eco Gardens).... say around 20-30 minutes drive or so. You should look at buying a car.... and Malaysia is the second most expensive place in the world to buy a car (Singapore being first!).
The best place to meet expats is, in my opinion, the Bale Club at Leisure Farm, or Puteri Harbour. Unless you join some kind of club or group of course.
Good place to start looking for property is propertyguru.com.my or iproperty.com.my
Good luck!
