Setia Eco Gardens/Johor Commute
Hi, I'm thinking of applying for a job based in Setia Eco Gardens. The info the employer has provided says this is approx 20mins from Johor, where I would be keen to live. From what I've read so far on this forum and elsewhere, traffic seems to be one of the main downsides of living in Malaysia, and public transport isn't that hot either.
Can anyone who knows the area advise on whether I'd need a car for this commute, and whether it would be a nightmare?!
Thanks

Re: Setia Eco Gardens/Johor Commute
When you say Johor I assume you mean Johor Bahru (JB).
JB is a big place area wise and through roads aren't great but there are 'by passes'.
Generally people on here would not live in JB itself and I see that Horizon Hills is close by to where you will work.
I lived in Taman Pelangi 25 years ago and it was fine then.
There aren't too many ex pats living in JB so if you are looking to meet people for nights out then you might well be better off near hour place of work where some of the posters on here live.
There are night spots, bars and restaurants in JB but if this is your first overseas posting??? you might be surprised with them.
There'll be others on here who might give alternative views.

First post on this sub-forum in nearly a month...
Why not live in Setia Eco Gardens? Will be cheaper than Horizon Hills and much closer to work!
