I took Graylings advice and saved quite a bit of money by applying to them 1st and then will apply to the ANC after.
We are planning to go to SA, we only have 115 points at the moment.
We are not currently using an agent.:scared:

4 months may be OK but go for PR not a temporary visa which ties you to a particular job or agency. The employer usually pays the agency not you.
I may have some addresses if you say where you want to go.
Good luck

PR or temp visa - How the heck do I know the difference. We just emailed them our details and sat back (not exactly scientific I know!)

For Brisbane try this one:
www.oxleygroup.com.au
or www.seek.com.au
To decide which visa :
www.immi.gov.au
Good luck

Hi
We are using an agency as well as running a PR visa alongside,
this way we have the security of a job for me, and we can take our time deciding where we want to settle, find hubby a job then buy. I was slightly complicated as my experience is community based, and i wasn't keen to go back hospital based. We found an agency who say they can place me in a small town approx 1 hr 30 mins from Perth with subsidised house on approx $50,000.
We are waiting to hear back have sent references etc.
The agency is in london, Jodie is our contact email [email protected], they are part of eden healthcare.
Everyone is right about registering with NSW, I've just sent all my docs with a cheque equivilant £20 to register.
The downside to this sponsorship is your tied to employer which is why we are doing PR visa also then we are free to decide our future.
Sorry didn't mean to write a novel!!! hope it helps
Cheers

Glad to be of help if you need any more info, you can always email, as we go through the process if I pick up any tips, I'll let you know.
What area of nursing is your wife specialising in ?
Another good agency www Healthstaffrecruitment.com.au. Tara was great but couldn't assist as they only offered hospital based.
Worth a try
Cheers

How long do you reckon a PR visa for you will take, and do you feel that being a Nurse will speed it up???
We just don't wanna be left behind when they shut the doors!

Booklet 6 wow you are keen,
we decided to difficult to do alone, and have been in talks with George Lombard migration agent, he has given lots of free advice so far.
His fees are approx £900 which we decided was worth it for such a life change , obviously there are other fees that DIMIA charge, we think in total £3-4000
we are about to sign contact and return to him , they say visa within 6 months, but we will proably go on temporary sponsored visa with agency in Oct

Well ... the transcripts are being sent to us this weekend from where my wife did her nurising, and the registration 'stuff' is being sent to ANC & QNC as we speak. The Application Forms will be sent as soon as we can get the copies certified and sent ....
(Hopefully the nurse out there will understand this ... me being a man just does as he's told and types when thrown a peanut!)
Now what!?
Any idea on timescales ... all you lucky lot who are ahead of us!?

The ANC took nearly 8 weeks from the time of posting to receiving it back and that was for a modified assessment! The QNC were quick about 10 working days!
I am frontloading my DIMIA application but have had to wait 2 weeks for med appointment! Then my registration with QNC had to be renewed as expires in June! more money! But easily done on the internet about 5 days !
My meds are 20/5/04 police checks await then who knows?
It's a real waiting game!

Hi Nikki,
Thanks for the info ... I see you are planning to get to brisbane 2005 ... is that a realistic timescale due to the length of the process ... or for other reasons?

Hi
My daughter takes GCSE's next year so despite me wanting to go now I thought I'd better let her finish them!!!
I want to get my Visa before another point raise and so we can sell our house!
We want to validate at Easter and register with schools etc anyway!
