Hi all,
I'm currently at the stage of waiting for my medical, should be by June time then hopefully making the move in sept/oct '08, by then I'll be qualified 2 years. I'm currently working in CCU and loving it, I really want to continue cardiac nursing in Oz, I'm just querying which the best way to go about job hunting? Direct contact to the hospitals or with an agency? If there is anyone in Sydney knowing of cardiology vacancies please let me know!!!

Jobs, as a nurse, would be pretty easy to get but if you want a particular post or grade you need to apply for it.
Bear in mind that UK experience may count for little as many have found out.

Try emailing employers direct and see what response you get.
You are also far better off going for an independent PR visa.
Good luck

Yes you will get a job easily.
Try the Sydney Adventist Hospital if you're after a private hospital with cardiac stuff. No really sick ones though, elective stuff mostly.
Would need St Vincent's public for the severe HF patients, transplants etc.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Another question is which offers the best salary..private or other?? I've been looking into St Vincents as it appears the most central as we still have yet to find an apartment. I'm getting my CV together this wk to email out to relevant employers. All very exciting but scary!!! Can't wait though

May get a bit more per hour at public, but less perks - more expensive parking, longer transit etc.
