I would really appreciate some advice about how I can apply for ICU nursing posts that are for "internal applicants only".
I am currently an experienced ICU nurse in the UK but planning a move to Perth. A friend of mine already there tells me that most of the ICU posts are advertised as internal only. My question is, does working in that hospital as agency/bank class as internal? is this the way round it?
All help on how to get my foot in the door greatly appreciated before we move!!
What have others in my situation done? (or wished they hadn't done!)

im pretty sure that in a recent nursing times or nursing standard the WA govt were advertising for itu nurses, with a panel coming over to the uk to interview ... its a fairly recent advert too, im sure it was only in the last 2 - 4 weeks.

page 3 has 5 itu jobs going, doesnt say anything about being internal but does say it gives preference to those with australian permanent residence - sorry dont know if you have your visa or not.

Thanks very much tiredwithtwins! haven't got our Visa's (yet), still very early days, my heads in a whirl of do I sort a job before we leave, or find one we arrive? (not planning on going on sponsorship or at least wasn't but may rethink after looking at the ad). It's all very confusing but will be worthwhile hopefully. Thanks for replying to my thread.

I think you'd be better off sorting your visa out first as that can impact on what type of job you go for x
