Hey tracey, Yeah I took my portfolio with me but it was a waste of time they didn't look at it and don't even think they had time to as they had back to back interviews arranged, so its up to you. Are you nervous?!

Re: Interview in manchester!
Not nervous about actually going to the interview, just nervous about messing up and not knowing what to say to their questions
Oh well i can only do my best, did you look at any Australian nursing guidelines or anything?

Tracey dont worry my interview over the phone was fine im sure face to face will be easier. They were very relaxed and friendly made me feel at ease and the answers i gave were the most natural that i have ever done in interview situation. You will be fine try the good old bach flower rescue remedy worked for me think its the alcohol content in it though!!! If I can be of any help contact me I had 4 questions scenario based that was it, quality, communication, managing an accident in the workplcae, an unresponsive child, that was it, just do the work on the clinical governance and it will be fine as its all interelated. good luck Trudi

Hi,
Well i went for my interview at Q Health in London yesterday. They offered me a place on their grad prog, they said even thou i would be a bit more experienced than their new grads it would benefit me. Was wondering if i could do it part time does anyone know if i could?

Re: Interview in manchester!
I found that it wasnt the experience they are after but the qualification so they are putting most at level 1-2 NO1. Ive 15yrs in and specialise in oncology but they said i will be given an interview if there where any places left after it was all over and they where about to go back to OZ. So i doubt i will get a interview this time round. I have secured a job at the Mater but the Sunshine coast is where i really want to be, up near Hervey Bay. Oh well looks like i`ll have to take the $15000 relocation package and live near the centre!

I think the work for us team are literally recruiting to make up numbers. I've been told if I find I'm not happy where they put me I can be moved as there are loads of jobs going and they'd rather have you onboard and happy than miserable and leave.
Have you thought about commuting? It's not ideal I know but it would mean that you get to live on the sunny coast and work in Brissy.
$15000 is a lot of money to put into you. Talk to them again if you're not happy. They need you at the end of the day, not the other way round.

Have you had your contract and terms and conditions through yet? On mine it states that as long as you provide proof, you can go to the HR dept and show them what you're earning now and they will adjust your wages accordingley.

The only thing about that is Hervey bay is 4-5hr drive south or so ive been told so commuting is not really viable.

Re: Interview in manchester!
Hi there,
I've got a job at the Mater in Raymond Terrace in ICU and am just waiting for my HR department to write a statement of service for me to send to Mater HR.
I just wondered of anyone would be able to give me a rough idea of the pay for full time rotating through nights with 5 year's experience? From my interview I seemed to understand that a registered nurse gets paid a certain amount and then there are incremental points for each year of service, i.e. I would be on point 5- I may well have got this wrong though.
Many thanks

Have a look at queensland health website there is a link somewhere on it for the pay scales for nurses and the enhancements you get for shifts
Well done and good luck
