Hi Lou, only just read this post. Congrats to you too hon!! Yippee. Isn't it wierd. It took me a while to get my head round it too. Great news that they'll wait for you. Have to say opthamology is pretty specialist so I suppose you're a bit of a rarity eh? Also great news you're heading for same area as me. Is it the ANMC letter you're waiting for? If it is, have you had an acknowledgement letter yet?

Well done on getting the job Lou! I'm sure you are still celebrating! it's really good to hear so many people getting jobs - what an amazing opportunity for all of us! here's to the start of our new lives in sunny Queensland - it's gonna be worth the wait for the visas etc...!

Hi all, good luck to all who have job offers Ive done the same sent off ANMC forms QNc forms and queensland health eoi had reply back to say they would contact me re interview but no news for a week now. Anmc replied that process is taking about 8 weeks at the moment think ill feel better when that comes back. Like Rachaey Im a paediatric nurse hoping to go to cairns as we have family there. Work is really bad here at the moment feel like ditching it and working at tescos at the moment. Keep up the posts it keeps you sane hearing others are going through the same worries!!!

All I heard was an email from QH asking me to chase up a reference, which I have done. Still waiting for QNC reg (its been nearly 5 weeks now) and can't apply for 457 visa until I have more info from QH, aarrgh! frustrated and still waiting! (I keep telling myself it will all be worth it!).

I really want to book my flight! I've arranged a leaving party but just hope I'm not tempting fate!

Hi Lou,
Hee hee you sound just like me. I know my references have been done. Just had one of them ask me last week if it was OK to post it cos she couldn't fax it. Nearly cried as she'd had it for 3 weeks!! How come you have a CO? Are you still doing the 136?
This whole waiting for confirmation in writing thing was driving me mad till last week when I got a rather large tax bill. Now I'm kind of glad things have come to a screeching halt as the total sum of my Oz fund is now going to have to pay off my tax bill and I'm going to have to start saving from scratch.

hiya, i have left another note for my ward sister to check with matron....who works on another site, and i never see, that references have been sent, my other referee also had to post cos fax didn't work, but he did it with 48 hours! yes we are still doing 136, but things seem to have speeded up a bit, which is good.....application arrived on 19th feb, case officer on 16th april...so less than 2 months which is good! but cannot get meds until 19th of may so now we will not here anything til june at earliest! anyway better go cos i got work tonight! bad luck with the tax bill....i just doing hubby's tax return so fingers crossed we have put enough away.....looks ok so fingers crossed! loux

Nice one Sarah!! Glad to know there's some movement somewhere. Now I'm going to have to go back to checking my email compulsively every 5 minutes..oh god. Is it QH who gave you the start date for July?

Sarah.

Yeah they asked if we would be able to start the new grad programme then. I'll keep you all posted!

word of advice to every1 who hasn't heard from QH - email and chase them up coz my friend who is coming with me did and they were still waiting for refs!!! and her referees had never received a request from them!! and one of my referees had to send it twice as they said they never got the 1st one.
