Please don't try and teach your granny how to suck eggs.
I worked in Nurse education in the UK and now do the same here.
A diploma is not equivalent to a degree. It is enough to register as an RN, and in that sense is comparable, but it is not an equivalent.
If you work in higher education you should know that???

I was simply offering my thoughts.

Indeed......and over the years I have given an awful lot of advice on this forum....especially about registration.
Reality is that if you are a registered RN (or RMN etc.) in the UK then you are able to register as an RN in Australia. There are plenty of UK nurses working here whose basic training was not even at diploma level (I am one of them who trained under the old hospital based system). There are also plenty of Australian nurses who trained the same way.
It is not particularly complicated or difficult and there is a lot of information on here if people could be bothered to look.
Whether it will remain the same in future is another matter.....but then, with so many unemployed Australian graduates....who knows how easy it will be for overseas trained nurses to even work here in future.

Somebody at the beginning of this thread is a UK degree trained RN with 2 year's post grad experience.
What is your specialism, have you started your AHPRA registration, what sort of visa do you want, and when and where do you wish to go (think you said Perth but that is not so hot for recruiting overseas nurses).
PM me your responses and further questions if you wish.
