Nursing registration UK to Canada
Hi there!
Any advice on this would be much apreciated, I'm starting the process of having my UK nursing registration assessed by NNAS in the hope of moving to and working in Canada at some point in the next two years. The whole process seems extremely drawn out and expensive from everything I've read with very few UK RNs being accepted as having comparable qualifications and having to do expensive bridging courses which could still result in them being rejected. It is a lot of money to spend and I was wondering if it is possible to apply to be considered as an LPN in Canada with RN UK qualifications? Woud you be more likely to be accepted? Also if anyone has a clearer idea of the difference between an LPN and RN in Canada I would appreciate advice on that too! Thank you so much for any help you can offer!

It can be done and I know of a couple people that didn’t but they then had problems find employer and full time employment. At the end of the day assessment is done on the information provided

Hi, It will depend on the province you are applying to. Each provincial nursing licensing body has different standards of practice & even names. LPN is RPN (Registered Practical Nurse) in Ontario. You need to find the RPN/LPN competencies of the province you are going to practice in.
In Canada, all Registered Nurses must complete 4 yrs of university education.
