Hiya Lynn

Jez and us like Cleveland (Bayside) we've both bought there.

It depends on what you can afford though.

Graham and I rented a fairly expensive property ie on the water own jetty!!! $500 per month

You can get cheaper although we had little choice as we arrived during xmas holidays. We have a Fantastic rental: Lovely views, pool, own pontoon etc

when we looked at houses to buy..... We wanted the same..... bit of a problem...so expensive

Luckily we have bought a tired house with same view but need a mortgage and need to do Kitchens bathrooms etc and bought at auction( land Value)

I would say don't rent a really nice place (with views)if you can't afford to buy......

Just leads to disappointment..... we are lucky...... :scared:

hehe...thought it was a bit too good to be true!
we are looking to save enough to spend about £100 - £150 a week (approx $200-£350 a week) for a 3/4 bed house. seems a fairly normal amount to pay on rent for the area.
have seen 'some' small properties - 3 bed - with small gardens for less than $200 a week!
mind you, anything will be good compared to the house we live in now (a 2up 2down with 3 kids!!)

Hi Nikki,

We moved to Brisbane 6 months ago, and stayed in Raby Bay to begin with. Now we are renting in Cleveland for $285 p.w/4 bedrooms. I am also a nurse and have been working in a private hospital, but find I miss UK nursing. How long have you been here now and how are you finding it?
