Default AHPRA on Twitter

Hi to all nurses who are frustrated with AHPRA.

I contacted AHPRA via Twitter (@AHPRA) regarding the slow process times. Here is a transcript of the exchange:

Work and Live in Aus @lookmine

@AHPRA Please comment on current slow processing of O/S registrations for nurses, some have waited 6 months - no comments/action by AHPRA - 24 May

Work and Live in Aus @lookmine

@AHPRA Fees taken from banks in first week, Case Officers refusing to comment! What is the delay - Job offer are being lost due to inaction. - 24 May

REPLY:

AHPRA @AHPRA
@lookmine New model implementation unfortunately slowed assessment times but backlog has reduced. Process & decision times are improving

To be fair, at least they responded - even if it's not exactly what everyone wanted to hear, it does appear that things are moving in the right direction.

AHPRA on Twitter, how modern!
Thanks for the update Dave. Is it true that when they assess you qualification (the 2nd and last part of the assessment) it is an outside agency which is why the case officers can't comment on that stage of the process?

Not sure about the latter part, unless they are using Teaching Hospitals to do it - but that would be a bit risky if those hospitals wanted nurses quickly

Oh Ok, just rumors you hear. At least the backlog is reducing, plus its nurses annual renewal month in Oz so that's held things up too I believe.
