Not quite as committed as a tattoo, but the avatar should balance things up. Good colour for a skoda me thinks:p

Rob - great tatoo (looks like it probably hurt) but I am a wimp with a capital W!

Was it a lengthy process getting your indefinite returning resident visa and what info did they want to know. Thanks

Nope:
Let the initial two year one expire.
Turn up just after immigration opens (a queue rapidly built up)
get a number
Wait 45 minutes
Pay $140
Get stickers in passports.

Result!

Sorry I don't know - we had PR from the start. Maybe someone else can answer that though?

i am confused - we have PR and thought we already had returning visas in there.... is there a difference then?

Re: Yay - we're staying now!

you get a returning residents visa with your PR, which allows you to leave NZ and re-enter as you like. This lasts for 2 years from when you enter the country. After 2 years, dependent on how much time you've spent in NZ you can then apply for an indefinate returning residents visa which gives you the same right to come and go, you just don't have to worry about it expiring!! Just a quick way for immigration to make more dosh.
