Default working with children in NZ

I'm wondering what kind of jobs are available working with children, specifically pre school age?

I am interested in anything from teaching gymnastics lessons to working with underprivileged to adoption agencies. Also, what kind of VISA would I need (coming from the USA and I am 22 years old).

Is this even a lucrative area? The only thing I do not want to do is teach English!

I will even teach - I have a Master's degree from university of florida, maybe that will help? THanks
